You’ll notice the biggest changes on our landing pages, pages that host a collection of stories on a particular topic, or subsections of our website. For example, CBC Arts, Comedy, Lifestyle, News, Regions, all have landing pages. Each page presents stories, or story cards, in a feed format.
The more you scroll down, the more stories you’ll see. The top portion of landing pages will be curated by an editor, as they are now. Once you scroll past the top stories, the remaining content on the page is ordered chronologically, with newest stories on top.
Here's an example of the Life page:
Our menu has also been redesigned to include more sections of the site, allowing you to go where you want to go quickly and easily. Find local sites, news, sports, radio and other sections by selecting the MENU button.
You’ll still find your local headlines on the right side of the page:
Our top news headlines have been bundled together in the centre of the page. Select CBC News > or MORE CBC News> to go to the CBC News page.
Behind the scenes, we have updated all of the technology that powers the site. This enables us to give you a site that loads quickly, consumes less bandwidth and can be updated with new features more frequently.
